If tree has powdery mildew I do not believe it is the same type that will attack a cannabis plant.

I agree about the pinching. I started doing that for a couple of years and learned the hard way that by doing pinching, you put the plant is shock and you'll loose days in maturing! Don't PINCH the stalks!
