Cannabis cultivation has a dirty secret, but the future is sun-grown | Dan Sutton | TEDxVancouver

Dan shines a light on the dark and dirty traditions of cannabis cultivation and argues that a sun-grown future is the only sustainable pathway for a burgeoning …

  1. Outdoor is mids 🤷‍♂️. Sungrown is a word to polish a turd and make it sound better but indoor herb is higher quality 99% of the time. Led and other things have saved the carbon footprint and 3lb a light the yield is high enough to make up for the cost to run it. Outdoor will never demand the prices indoor does. You can drink Budweiser or you can drink dom perignon. 🤷‍♂️

  2. Decriminalisation would solve many problems…prison industrial complex, global warming from heatloss, energy consumption resources being reduced drastically and everyone having free access to the world's greatest plant for consumption

  3. Growing HEMP will restore the 'soil', will restore the 'atmosphere'.
    Will create BIO-DEGRADABLE plastics.
This is the only way I can get this message out; HEMP plastics is the future for earth.
I wrecked my Harley not wearing my helmet that stopped my heart 3 times, put me into an 87 day coma waking with a 5.5 brain injury requiring relearning life. Once returning home I tried having my doctor do an MRI of my brain to compare to my wreck. He refused telling me that BIG PHARMA will financially destroy any doctor that proves THC restores brain injuries.
This upset me so much that I taught myself MOLECULAR SCIENCE and went to the gold shop in KALISPELL MONTANA showing JB how copper transitioned into gold. This got me kicked out and he told 'city council' that I am making FOOLS GOLD from copper pass tests
Boiling water proves that 'heat' excites MOLECULES allowing ATOMS to escape.
This is how copper transitions into GOLD and nickel into PLATINUM.
Earth must be restored by growing HEMP world wide.

  4. This guy is a sellout! In the end if the cost of a non addictive product goes down it only means one of two things…..

    (a) the quality is lowered
    (b) the market is flooded

Either way, the companies that produce cannabis hire guys like this big $$$$$ to help them sell products to the public.

  5. sure sun grown is good if youre in an area that has a good growing season. even if youre in a greenhouse its not viable to grow in without lights in the majority of canada. Not to mention now all the hemp crops being grown again is great for seeding any out door cannabis farm…

  6. ehhh. There are a plethora VERY good reasons to grow indoors. Control. Pests. Mold. I could give you a SCROLL of reasons not the LEAST of which is STATE Regs that would never pass if grown "outdoors"

  7. Regulation is for markets and same goes for corn, soybeans, as long as there is a grow your own option it's all good and no Monsanto or some such. The problem will wind up being copyrighted genetics.

  8. Okay usually I don't argue with math but on this one I'm calling b*******. To grow 2.2 lb of pot could not possibly take the same energy of driving a car 11 ×3000=33000 miles! That would be twice around the planet at the equator. From Sprout to harvest indoor grow three to four months. Somebody would have to show me the actual equation before I bought this b*******.

  9. Weed gets you high, tomatoes don’t. Advocating an unregulated weed economy is like saying orange juice and tequila are the same. Even orange juice is regulated. Products that we consume, that get us high, should be regulated. If you want government out of weed, you shouldn’t have advocated its legalization.

  10. In Asia …almost 100% of pot grows outdoors naturally…..everybody should have the right to plant his own stuff …..we don’t need more companies telling us what to do …..this guy is trying to regulate it as well , just in another form , so that he can make money …..

  11. Pot heads love weed, not all people. It didn't became non drugs all of a sudden. It still kill canaboids receptors in the brain, so you potheads need more weed.

  12. I have long preferred my Marijuana sun grown. However to keep up with demand, I must be able to grow in the winter also. In my state, that means indoor.
It has been my experience that sungrown is better product with a better yeild.
The greenhouse is great. Outdoor is a little tougher to care for, more pests and you must keep the buds dry, which means a constant eye out for rain and heavy dew.
And I just wrote far more than I intended….smh.
