  1. I honestly cannot wait until these prehistoric geriatric dinosaur politicians finally croak so we can move forward on common sense changes to these archaic laws

  2. “…marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest, therapeutically active substances known to man.”
–Francis Young (DEA’s own Judge 1988)

"Penalties against possession of a drug should not be more damaging to an individual than the use of the drug itself; and where they are, they should be changed. Nowhere is this more clear than in the laws against possession of marijuana in private for personal use…”

    – Jimmy Carter (U.S.President)

“Congress should definitely consider decriminalizing possession of marijuana… We should concentrate on prosecuting the rapists and burglars who are a menace to society.”

    – Dan Quayle (U.S. Representative & Vice President)

"Even if one takes every reefer madness allegation of the prohibitionists at face value, marijuana prohibition has done far more harm to far more people than marijuana ever could."

“The anti-marijuana campaign is a cancerous tissue of lies, undermining law enforcement, aggravating the drug problem, depriving the sick of needed help and suckering well intentioned conservatives and countless frightened parents.”

    – William F. Buckley Jr. (American conservative author & commentator)

"The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world."

    – Dr. Carl Sagan (American Cosmologist, Astrobilologist, author & science communicator)

“You bet I did -— and I enjoyed it.” ….when asked if he had ever smoked marijuana.

    – Michael Bloomberg (New York City Mayor)

"Studies have consistently failed to establish the existence of a link between the harshness of a country’s drug laws and its levels of drug use."

    – Kofi Annan (U.N. Secretary General)

"Pot is a better drug than alcohol. I'll prove it to you. You're at a ball game or a concert, and someone's really violent and aggressive and obnoxious, are they drunk or are they smoking pot?"

“Why is pot against the law? It wouldn't be because anyone can grow it, and therefore you can't make a profit off it, would it?”

“…It grows naturally upon our planet. Doesn’t the idea of making nature against the law seem to you a bit … unnatural?”

-Bill Hicks (Satirist, Social Critic, Stand-Up Comedian)

"If the words "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" don't include the right to experiment with your own consciousness, then the Declaration of Independence isn't worth the hemp it was written on."

    – Terence McKenna (American ethnobotanist, psychonaut, author, advocate for responsible use of natural psychedelic plants)

  3. It's a war on people. Drugs are inanimate objects, one cannot engage in war with inanimate objects. If it doesn't pass senate it doesn't matter you can't stop this legalization train. Cannabis is unstoppable

  4. I would rather have healthy forests, fish, and animals than pot. Large scale marijuana grows are very destructive to the environment. Water is a serious issue in California, and it's only going to get worse. Large marijuana grows divert water from streams. Planting cannabis for commercial production in remote locations is creating forest fragmentation, stream modification, soil erosion and landslides. If marijuana is grown indoors, it takes a lot of electricity and has a high carbon footprint. Producing a few pounds of weed can have the same environmental toll as driving across America seven times – harming cities’ and states’ plans to curb emissions. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2017/jun/20/cannabis-climate-change-fossil-fuels

  5. the main goal for legalization was for pharmaceuticals to have access to weed because they knew people were using it on a holistic level bypassing the poisonous pills that gave you one disorder after attempting to destroy another disorder with those pills. the big pharm industry was hurting because of weed and the facts that PHARMA was the real drug dealers killing millions for a profit, but because they were protected under the federal govt. they could push that poison with ease and now they want to be in the loop to reap the benefits of weed meanwhile so many people caught non-violent drug offense charges through the years that brought stiff numbers for those folks. it's sad because urban pharmaceuticals had a smaller risk of killing their clients with their dro than the average PHARMA that pushed their pills to their clients in which every commercial described a side effect which might be fatal to the masses that take that Quote "medication" and now PHARMA has that power to push their ALLEGED vaccine that kills COVID but they're not sure if their 100% but claim 100? (phizer) REALLY? OH and PS the 12 is pissed over this outcome and probably ready to pay the senate off to make certain it doesn't happen so they can make america great again with their bias discrimination and killing of black folks and anyone in possession of such a substance that PHARMA considers a treasure trove to their bank accounts!

  6. They should definitely pass this. The propaganda regarding the fear of the effects of this legalization on the youth is old and outdated and proven wrong. Those who are going to drink smoke or do other things are going to do it whether its legal or not. Those who arent interested wont, even if it is legal. Not everyone likes or wants to use MJ which is fine and I think they forget that. However, Look at how well it has done for the states that have legalized it.

kids are not smoking more in co five years into the legalization, according to studies.
no dramatic spike in youth use. adults are using more though (cuz its easier to get and more affordable, duh).
    teen arrests down 20%
    black arrests actually going down

The state raked in $36.8 million in taxes and fees from cannabis sales in September.
    according to https://www.cpr.org/2020/11/11/colorado-marijuana-sales-were-down-in-september-but-people-are-still-consistently-spending-more-on-cannabis-this-year/

  7. It's not the drug their embracing , it's the revenue they can bring in.
I'm watching people in my neighborhood pick up cigarette butts, and pan handle for a beer or liquor , and you excite them with weed being legalized.
    IF THEY WERE BROKE BEFORE,
    WATCH THEM NOW !
They won't be able to go to the dollar store for a loaf of bread when this sensational trend begins.
If you are under some spell , in which you believe your life will get better once weed is legal , I'm speaking from experience ….it won't.
A fool and his money are soon departed.
SMOKE IT IF YOU GOT IT , BUT REMEMBER , YOU GOT TO PAY TO PLAY …..and it was just yesterday
you were asking some kind stranger
to help you with carfare to get on the train.
What's the minimum you expect to give over from your minimum wage job to feel alive ?

  8. This seems like nothing more than a gimmick, it will always pass in the house, it's the Senate who will never pass it. They're too busy disagreeing on the covid stimulus, quit wasting your time with this until we get a government who actually wants to do more than just line their own pockets

  9. Think about how they're talking and you will realize what they actually saying. Decriminalizing marijuana not making it legal, there is a difference. Politicians only do something if it puts more money in their pockets. Or the pocket of the big corporations who pull their strings. Decriminalization doesn't mean the same as legislation.

  11. Jesus Christ saves from sin.
    Romans 3: 23
    For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
    Hebrews 9: 27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
    Isaiah 64: 6
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
    Revelation 21: 8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
    Romans 5: 8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
    John 3: 16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    John 14: 6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
    Romans 10: 9-10.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
    Jesus said John 5: 24
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
    1John 5: 10-13
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
    Ephesians 2: 8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
    Romans 8: 1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
    1 Corinthians 15: 3-4
    For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
    2 Corinthians 5: 21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

  12. This has been going on for a yr, dems did not propose this bill, this bill has been accepted already…. the dems have denied the rep offer and the rep have denied the dems offer. This is a political stunt. They have not come to an agreement.

  13. This is why I hope Republicans lose the Georgia Senate. Then we can just go around the ignorant prohibitionists. So Republicans think guns are good, but marijuana is bad. Idiots. Weed is way more fun than shooting a gun.
